Quite likely. I always thought it strange, given Carnforth's apparent reluctance to use the same loco two days running for the S&C trains this summer, that they were apparently prepared to do this for the Lakes Express, particularly in view of the distance involved on Thursday.

It's a while since I've been behind Leander (over Shap) so the chance to go over Ais Gill with her will be welcomed.

Probably sensible given recent travails to set aside at least a clear day for fitness to run exam. When a loco gets back late and is required again the next day it creates potential difficulties.

Here she is at Grange-Over-Sands on this morning's outward run up the Cumbrian Coast. The headboard is a little confusing!! All the best, Steve.

Rather violent slip on Lindal Bank this morning, but 45699 sounded superb prior to that. Video of the slip being edited right now.

    Good to meet @sgthompson too!

So Galatea it is then. Lovely run round the coast with Gordon Hodgson doing what he does best. Galatea was well behaved and wound up well on Lindal Bank after a hiccup. Beautiful weather up here. Just the day for it plus hot running tea/coffee and other snacks to your seat. Going like a Steam Dream. Did you see what I did there?!

Mick Kelly has promised me that even though I'm in the last coach on the S&C I'll be able to hear Galatea but it's one coach more than best for her.

Has anyone registered that 10A had a Scot, a Jubilee and a Duchess on shed in the last 24 hours.....in 2015?

Would like to hear how she gets on. Still on my wanted list for any mileage let alone S&C. I think that anything under 23 minutes Ormside Viaduct (MP 275) to Ais Gill (MP 260) will be good.

Yes the fact had been noted, it was reported that the Scot and the Duchess both in green made a nice pairing, but as you know photos are verboten..

One coach more than best... yet she still arrived 2 minutes early at Appleby! Hope you can hear her, Al!

I'll be honest, until the beginning of this year, I wasn't particularly impressed by Galatea, but her performances this year have certainly changed my mind!

Possibly two jubilees? Is Leander there? When is the Duchess heading back south?

It's a lovely line round the coast.
