    Lovely photographs, thanks.

I normally find that accelerating away from Millom is the best thing to do!

Mick Kelly and mate in charge again from Preston. Noisy and quick to Weaver Junc (Wigan and Warrington were fun). But then the dead hand of pathing came into play.

By the way, the pause on Ribblehead yesterday was a nice touch by the same crew who gained time to do it.

Must be a Mick Kelly thing, he slowed the Dalesman to a crawl on 27 Aug - was much appreciated by many of the passengers..

Diesel just attached to rear at Crewe. Reported reason is a concern over water after Rugby through to Southall. Who plans this stuff?

Isn't a diesel needed on the back to extract the whole shebang from Euston tonight anyway?

There was one pathed in after itnarrived. I feared this would happen when I saw the path up to Crewe from Southall. And now we have the threat of being pushed because of water issues.

Good job Buseng was banned he would be apoplectic

20 odd minutes late too, that's going to upset the Watford Junction mob it will be dark there by then

Nothing authentic since Crewe. Example. 66 mph at Whitmore.

Looking superb passing Colwich about 16:10 - when was the last time a Duchess, Jubilee and Scot were all seen running in steam on the WCML within 2 1/2 hours!

Train will now terminate at Watford. No diesel to release train at Euston.

A bit of an unfortunate end to this trip by the sound of things. I spoke to a friend of mine this morning who's been on the train since Monday and his report of the whole experience was very positive, that includes the varied haulage, the staff, hotels, food, etc. Hopefully the passengers won't endure too much of an overall delay getting back to Euston.
