Hi Anne, Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you'll get lots of suggestions on here - everything from the weird and wonderful to some things that might actually help!

It's good to see someone from the current Teifi team joining in with the discussions. I believe everyone on here is aware that, unless you are posting as a 'formal' representative of a railway, everything you say is just your own personal opinion, and there are some strong opinions as you may well have seen! Saying that though most people on Nat Pres are grown up enough to agree to differ when opinions collide. (and there are always the moderators who will dish out slapped wrists if things get too heated!) Enjoy!

Good Website - it is 25 years since I visited the Teifi Valley Railway - it's good to think that I might be able to visit it again

Perhaps it's time to rename the thread "Teifi Valley Railway Deveoplments" or similar to sound a more positive note.

Sounds reasonable to me although we better spell developments correctly ;) I'll sort it when I get home shortly as easier than doing it on this phone.

How about, "Resurrection" or "Reincarnation"? Or simply, "Teifi Valley Railway - The Way Forward!"

One of our volunteers enjoyed a walking holiday in the Newcastle Emlyn area last week, had a great time, hardly rained at all. He visited the Gwili and was greatly impressed then, at my suggestion (me having seen this thread) visited the Teifi Valley.

He reports that things are, indeed, happening, the volunteers are friendly and make no secret of the past troubles, but are working hard to get things back on track. He thinks that they are pitching towards the "families with children" market- the brochure would seem to confirm that- and warns that it might not be my cup of tea, by which I think that he means it's not primarily a railway enthusiast's railway (was it ever?) I suggest that we should stop carping and give them a break!

Looking over the river from my front room window (Yes, I know, I just had to rub it in. :D) I don't think they'd last five minutes in that current. Mind you, it would be interesting to see them trying to jump the falls at Cenarth.

I guess the only coarse fish that could stand the speed of the current when the river is in full spate would be a (motor)pike... (sorry!)

Think we ought to stop this now otherwise we'll be floundering around and lose our plaice on the thread.
