That smoke is steam, and who's the Japanese sniper in the bushes? Looks like a gland blowing on the LH piston rod, worse on a Bulleid due to outside admission.

Shame to hear Tangmere didn't complete the tour, at least she got most of the way. Didn't seem to be anything wrong with her at Ashchurch, was absolutely flying along. As usual outputting some emissions that Volkswagen would be proud of...

Was torn between catching the train here or crossing the bridge at Eckington, in the end happy with the choice with the wind blowing the wrong way. In case any one were wondering, this was taken at the top of the steps at foot crossing - the top step is more of a platform which lends itself to lying on your stomach to get a low angle!

Very sad to hear she has failed again. It's becoming a familiar pattern with her. She is sorted, goes well then fails. She doesn't have much luck these days.
That audio clip posted by LMarsh1987 sounds rather worrying.

Good lord that sounds like a bag of old nails, and looks like steptoe's old gas kettle - great capture. You have to love Tangmere, spectacle, drama and crisis follows it around like flies on a sheeps ass.

Ah, bless her. At least she made it on her own, unlike your shot of Mayflower on Thursday;).

Has been suggested on another forum that the "failure" was a precaution; the decision seems to have been taken to terminate at Reading for 34067 to go directly to Southall whilst FGW assisted by accepting passengers on its services to Paddington. Presumably a case of "better a delay to 34067 and its passengers than a complete seizure of services between Reading and Paddington". No doubt a fuller explanation of events will appear but it seems that a better level of co-operation is benefiting steam charters and TOCs - especially in case of problems; as 60163 proved a couple of years back that goodwill can work both ways.

Charming. You could have used another word--like cow or dog perhaps.

A really splendid video Liam, especially the intro and approach shot at Culham, very entertaining. Shame about the latest installment in Tangmere's problems tho'.

    Cheers,

It's obvious that 34067 is in need of an overhaul such is the frequency of problems. As far as I can recall the last major one was done by Ian Riley before 2003?

Ha ha ! Why is said person even in the bushes ? I wish people would open their traps & tell people they're out of bounds & in the way ! Wasn't Mr Skinner this time :)
