    Hello all.
Just a heads up that our first running day of the season is this Sunday (2nd March) and to mark it we are doing a Say What You Pay Day.
Wilbert is back in traffic after a spell in the shed, and our DMU service is running as well.

    Enjoy!

Last week, I spotted what looked like a "TkH" Polish 0-6-0T on a low loader going westbound on the A40 between Highnam and Huntley in Gloucestershire. I can't think of any other railway apart from the Dean Forest that might be the destination (unless it was going to the Flour Mill for overhaul. Netierh the DFR nor the Flour Mill websites mention anything about a visiting TkH. I'd be interested to know if anyone knows where it was going, . thanks.

Yo Dean Foresters....I am planning to visit on a Monday in June when there are no trains running... is the place still open for visitors or should I go elsewhere?

Yeah, the shop and station at Norchard should be open.

Progressing well, see particularly the latest updates at the bottom of this page:
    http://www.deanforestrailway.co.uk/projects

25% of the money required raised (to dismantle and store the station) already, I've just made a contribution.

Overall this seems like a worthwhile and realistic extension project - the DFR is currently a bit on the short side and this takes it to a more reasonable medium length line, and takes it into the heart of the forest with the terminus next to a bike hire centre and not far from the Speech House Hotel. I'll be making further contributions from time to time.
