And I'm sure the DTG agrees but with limited resources and lots of work required that aspiration will be some time coming to fruition. Full credit to them for keeping D1015 active but if their limited resources means that only one locomotive can be active at any one time then D7029 must wait its turn in the restoration queue.

Rumours that the Clayton might have failed, but if it did it managed to complete its booked diagram today. Hopefully all will be well in the morning.
I must say the numbers seemed rather good today, the car park at Kiddy was full before 10.50.

Slight oil leak apparently, nothing serious.

I think it was someone overreacting as usual, probably also not helped by the loco only being booked to do one round trip today.

Just in case ! -- D8568 at Waterworks Crossing, Hampton Loade yesterday - a nice combination with the LMS set but it would have been nice to see it with a short goods train.

Do the valley have much in the way of BR liveried freight stock? Not sure it would look good with the GW set they normally put out.

Most of the freight stock is indeed GW. A suitable set might have been the ballast wagons used for the WD photo charter in the spring.
Just idly musing - the diesel galas don't seem to feature a goods working.

Diesel fans in the main are not keen on freight workings at galas. It's not a view I share but it's the way of the world.

Superb gala today, big thanks to all involved. Excellent variety of loco's...... The Clayton was amazing! All trains seem to run to time. Thanks again.

    Seemed well attended on Thursday.
Plenty going on and a decent line up. What's not to like?

First visit to SVR DG in a number of years, and first time riding at a DG for about 25 years. A superb Friday, an excellent timetable, little dwell time at intermediate and end stations, trains running to time (except Hymek evening which wasnt too bad anyway), busy trains, great weather (afternoon especially), locos performing well, what was not to like.

Run of the day 1015 ex BN in the evening, great run.

Pity I cant go again today.

And for some unexplicable reason I did sometimes get an almost irresistable urge to flail as my 16 year old self did all those years ago, urge resisted as Im getting on a bit now and should know better.

the person over reacting would have made the tame Nat Pres moderation team panic , Sadly and in diesel parlance the poster concerned put a leg out of bed
