No Copy Pit return then, just an increasingly rare return down the Aire valley !

It sits in the Hellifield loop rather a long time in both directions - certainly longer than needed just to top up the tender

Yes, it's a long block section Settle Junction to Carnforth and on the return the 1646 Leeds to Morecambe is due to enter it at 1746.

So now the two tours should pass between Hellifield and Skipton?

Depends if the steam comes on at Hellifield for the Cleethorpes tour as there doesn't seem to be any decent water stops before Hellifield . They could always stick the loco on the rear of the Lune Rivers train to save a path if it does start steam hauled from Hellifield .

Having checked RTT there is no run over Copy Pit.

The Lune Rivers tour 1Z74 Carnforth - York goes via the Aire Valley & Leeds to York as does its return.

Indeed the tours should, if on time pass between Hellifield & Skipton.

Very atmospheric. Amazed your recorder focussed so well. Worth what must have been a very difficult drive. Pity about the polluting non-steam unit on the back.

That's a first isn't it? 2 diesels on the back. Why do they bother putting the steam engine on the front at all?

Saw the return journey on the now little used (by steam) route via Micklefield, nice to see the "Jub" in full flight..but 47 powering hard on the rear.....really? If it wasn't necessary to have a diesel on a more arduous route when the SSE's ran via Harrogate, with a similar (same load?) load and loco why should it be now....to help shunt is all I can come up with.

Anyway,my shot from Church Fenton (went for something new, hasn't really worked but win some-lose some) is up at:
