Double headed Jubilee s over Copy PIt from York to Carnforth ! - hope they dont change the route via Hellifield at the last minute. Pity its just 2 support coaches as well

I've read on Scarborough Spa thread that Galatea failed with a flat battery. Does anyone know if it and Leander are still due back over Copy Pit today ( Sunday)? Were they due to bring carriages back or just support coaches?

 

The pair just glided through Mirfield approx 12.40

I think so Alan I must pay more attention whilst walking on the road!! Thankfully I got down behind the wall in your picture and only the microphone is visible.

 

GB tour next year has them paired over the route but eastbound.
The Tin Bath has established motive power which everybody seems happy to keep repeating plus the Jubs may not be gauged for parts of the route. Why change?

Jubilees 45690 & 45699 breeze through Mirfield this lunchtime on the York-Carnforth LE move.
(*Filmed with a late substitute Camera and they were early too, so apologies for the poor quality - *Best viewed in HD*)

 

45593 and 45596 double headed the lcgb fellsman on 4/6/66 but not sure about any after then only on heritage lines.
