Not quite what I had hoped for, but the hazy weather and lack of sun meant it wasn't really worth trying to climb too high, so I settled for a low level shot of XH558 over Windermere. Oh well, better luck next time..... Ah!

Update on twitter about today. Some of the route has been altered to visit places missed out yesterday. Due to take off at 13.00.

But not via Mosborough, a place that's now almost as famous as Ronnie Pickering after being missed out yesterday. See the twitter feed.....

At Old Sarum with a big crowd, bluish sky (and no camera...).

Approaching and leaving Farnborough with huge crowds watching. Applause when it left. Miles of cars everywhere and this was at the back entrance!

Here is my very brief video of her flying over Aldershot on her way to Farnborough. She caught us out a little as she didn't come from the expected direction:

Just a single S-shaped pass over Old Sarum before disappearing off to the west. What was striking was how the hubbub from the crowd stopped when she came into sight and there was almost complete silence as she went over, followed by applause as she left.

Here is my video of her at Ironbridge during yesterday's Northern part of the Farewell tour. Farewell to 'The Spirit of Great Britain'.

Bruntingthorpe for me today and a first and last chance to see '558 overfly the resident Victor. The affection the general public has for this icon of British aviation is truly staggering. What a shame that technical support is being withdrawn, thus grounding her prematurely.

She nearly caught me out arriving 6 minutes early at Old Sarum. Parked, crossed the road and there she was approaching. I thought the castle was crowded during the airshow last month. Nothing compared to yesterday!

It could be claimed that the Victor was a superior aircraft but it is doubtful that one would ever engage the public the way that the Vulcan has.
Incidentally I can claim to be one of the last people to see a Victor in flight (Officially!) as I was under the flightpath at Shawbury when the RAF museum one made its last landing.
