    Afternoon All,

I paid a visit to the Milestones Museum in Basingstoke last month and very good it is too. There are plenty of transport related exhibits as well as displays of home and business life from the Victorian period through to the 1950s.

I have put a selection of pictures on Flickr and if anyone would like to see them, this is the first one in the Photostream :

They can also be found in this album :

Hope that they are of interest. If you haven't been to Milestones, you should definitely put it on you 'To Do' list.

Thanks Ron - I've been once before and intend to go again; as you say, well worth a visit.

An interesting looking museum. One question from me:- Did it include any reference to the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway and its use as the location for the Will Hay film Oh Mr Porter....?

Can't say I noticed any. The main reference to railways was about Winchester Chesil station.

A shame.... I managed to find the remains of one station, Lasham and Bentworth, when I went looking for the line 25 years ago. I suspect there is nothing left now......
