Apologies if this belongs somewhere else, but I thought it was pretty gala related :p.

This year for the DFRs diesel gala, we trialed a ride on freight consisting of 5 loaded Dogfish, a Queen Mary Brake and 2 class 14s. This appeared to be a success. (From the guys we asked who came along for the ride anyway!)

We are starting to get plans together for 2016 and it is hoped we can fit something similar into the timetable. My query is this, would making the consist longer and for the most part a whole lot heavier be attractive to various enthiasts? It has occurred to me that we have the odd gradient tht is begging for a 'clag wagon' if you will.

    Thoughts?

For diesel enthusiasts the attraction was the mileage behind the two 14s not what they were hauling. Five carriages or dragging the dmu would have been satisfactory!

Definitely heavier and longer. Do people really go to the DFR for mileage behind class 14's?!

On the listings page the DFR have been quoted as having a Mixed event over 21/22 May? A steam gala over 1-3 and 8-10 July before the early September diesel gala in 2016. Is this correct?

Should be from info I was sent including draft 2016 leaflet. With the steam gala advertised as 'Steam Gala - Our locol steam restorer the Flour Mill are celebrating 20 years in business by helping us deliver an epic two weekend Gala. The website is the best place to look for more information.'
