Not only at the start but most of the way through the shot. The chap with his family is clearly within the boundary fence and not using the crossing for its intended purpose, as it would appear is the photographer. Just a normal everyday scene on the railway when these trains run. You have a solution to this problem?

And the dog!. It would be quite acceptable behaviour in many European countries and indeed in some the railway is used as a path

In the 1960s and probably later some sections of lines in the UK were used as paths.

As a child there was a nearby railway bridge over a river, that was the only crossing point for about three miles. Never officially a right of way, none the less it was used by all the locals as a defacto crossing. Again as was the case in those days, no marked cess path, just common sense.

Edit, tho my childhood memories may well have bigged it up into a big scary exciting deal, I know, fortunately, it was not quite as bad as this

This is my video , there must be something about this foot crossing , the last time I was here some people thought it a good idea to walk up the track to get a better view , the driver of a service train actually stopped his train to tell them to go back , they ignored him , their average age ? About 75 !

Hopefully we'll get to share a chew on a bit of straw again on some lineside in the future.

It's the poxy OTMR that's failed, not the loco.

    Poxy OTMR?
Like it or lump it, all mainline "traction units" need to have it.
The failure rate is actually pretty low.

Thanks mate, there is a lay-by on the opposite side of the road to the viaduct, and an opening into the fields near by which is a footpath that runs under the viaduct, I was just there.
