Not meant to sound harsh on 34007, indeed I have had some fine runs behind her at B&W, West Somerset and MHR. However as 21B points out the loco has been beset with niggles during her ticket, that never seemed to occur when with 34105 when she was last in traffic. Maybe after the next overhaul the loco will be overall a lot less niggly.

We could of had another two Bulleids saved if Woodhams hadn't of cut up 34045 and 34094 in 1965. The biggest shame is 77014 didn't go to Woodhams after the end of Southern steam.

30506 could be back in steam towards the end of 2016.

Covering for 34007. I did see 34007 go light engine to Alresford and return back to Ropley at lunchtime. From what I heard the loco crew were hoping to get 34007 out in the afternoon.

Great shot of Clydebridge there @Hampshire Unit. How much longer will we get the chance to see her in action I wonder.
Loving your shot of Nellie being put away on the 27th too. Wish I'd hung around then too (but I had a tired 11 yr old with me). Again, I wonder what the news will be for her too.

Not much longer from the sound of it, along with 901.

Also I'd like to know why No.1 isn't in Steve's shot of 850 being put to bed - seeing as they're parked together!

I found myself down in 'Ampshire this morning - woke up & suddenly decided I needed some decent ale for NYE! ( some Triple fff "Forbidden Fruit" @ 6.6% should do nicely :)) So, I took the camera with me.......

First up, the 9F jogging up the bank........

007 emerging from Rook Wood, which a shot I've been wanting.........................

    • And then...................... catching the Midday Scot Sun - A shot I could only hit & Hope for, as the sun stopped dancing between the clouds & played ball! :D

The boxes are leaving the railway?
What are they going to use for the Gala in April? Just the 50 and the Thumper?

Nothing to do with me Guv - honest!

After that, I don't know - only going on whats being discussed elsewhere......... & they're not the Rly's to sell, so if the owner see's the time & price is right - who are we to argue?........ after all. the Big Rly has woken up to the fact that knackered old boxes have grandfather rights on the big train set & are more reliable than the modern day muck!

So. unless replacements are coming, the Rly could well be up the Swanny............ Gronk haulage on the Belle, again anyone?...................

I was working today, but did have two short gaps, so was able to catch fist and last services. Have a look on FlickR under Arle Images.
Diesel hauled RATs next year....37's a bit of a draw I reckon, so hope Colin can find a few more from somewhere...

The way Colas are buying up 37's, there won't be enough preserved ones left to go round! Hopefully the guys working their magic on 33008 at Cranmore and its owner will allow it to come to the MHR to play.

From what I've heard 27007 is far from a easy overhaul. Led to believe the body work needs major repairs.

From what I've seen over the last few years. The diesel preservation movement is awash with diesels that can't find enough work on a regular basis.
