    You're very welcome sir.

Flying Scotsman Enterprises 'Grand Tour of the North' 1 June 1969.

    Doncaster - Wakefield - Leeds - Halifax - Rochdale - Manchester -
Preston - Carlisle - Haltwhistle - Newcastle - York - Leeds - Doncaster. Some tour!

I think this could have been her last run over Shap but not sure. I managed 4 photos of it.

I was on the 'Moorlands', superb trip!

What do you expect when "Darn Sarf' insists on having the newest trains and making those of us "Oop North" have the oldest ones !!;)

Ah, yes, forgot that one. I photographed this as well....but in the Aire Valley, not on Shap.

Hope everyone has a great day, although with shoveage in prospect I don't feel I'm missing out.

Ten years ago (June 2005) I turned up at Scarborough with 3 non-enthusiast mates on off chance and did return trip to York behind FS for I think £30 and train was by no means full...

Also did FS Crewe-Holyhead, Carnforth-Sellafield and Victoria - Yeovil and something on the S & C. IIRC nothing great from performance point of view but all good days out.

Given what's happened on the S&C, this is probably the 'least worst' option. Well done to NR for coming up with a return path; they could very easily have simply pulled the plug on the whole trip, given the present troubles on 3 routes in/out of Carlisle.

Either way, the enthusiasts get their bargain trip so the big money can go to the NRM on the prestige event from KX. Rather considerate, I would suggest, of all to arrange it this way.

Or, in your case, at least two hobbies.
