    With this being the next intended tour over the Settle Carlisle, is anyone booked for this and wonder if there has been any mention of alternative plans with the landslip at Eden Brows putting the S&C out of action.

    Should be making all the booked pickup points but then heads for Carnforth when steam will come on, then Shap to Carlisle, returning via the Cumbrian Coast, diesel back on at Carnforth.

    Thanks Ralph. It sounds like the Cumbrian Coast could be seeing quite a bit of action over the next few weeks.

    The usual path out of Carnforth is following the 10.11 VT Pendo, and the 10.19 TPE, but since we don't arrive in time to change engines and get away in that slot, looks like the wait at Grayrigg is to allow the same pair running an hour later to pass, and perhaps taking the Grayrigg option as opposed to the Tebay loop.

    I'm sure the enginemen would prefer Grayrigg. Of course when the P2 gets running they'll probably loop it at Tebay so that it can reach 75 by the summit.;)

    According to RTT, train took 21 minutes to cover the 13 miles to Oxenholme and must have been looped at Grayrigg. No reports then until Tebay. Must have flown over Shap as it only took 21 mins for the 18 miles or so from Tebay over Shap to Penrith.
