Bit random? Especially as she hasn't got the stovepipe fitted.

I'm not as bigger fan of the A1 as I used to be, but Tornado doing 70+ through Goring on the fast line (good YouTube channel, that...! ;) ) with the whistle wide open was nothing short of breathtaking.

Yep - she was still going like the clappers through Tilehurst - started to brake just as she passed the new footbridge.

Here are my 2 shots of Tornado day and night. The day shot was at Lyneham in beautiful countryside in the Cotswolds and a night shot at Keynsham. Both clips involved acceleration and whistling of the highest quality. Hope you enjoy.

I tracked the return run on RTT then went out to see Tornado at Chippenham - I was not disappointed - the crew held back (at Thingley East Jn) for a Westbury Swindon local to be well clear of Chippenham - then gave Tornado a good run. Mrs Devonbelle overwhelmed and broke into spontaneous applause - as did other folk around the station as it thundered through the station.

    I need another Tornado trip!

Seems to be a problem with the Keynsham clip, it starts but about halfway through it stops with the message " An error has occurred, please try again later".
I gave it two go's with the same thing.

On hst back to Brizzle. PAD to RDG has taken longer than Tornado did this morning, despite its Slough stop. Over and out

A good days work there, Sean. Many thanks for the sustained updates and I'm now wondering whether we will have the good fortune to see the details of this run in SR/ HR or anywhere in the public domain rather than just in an RPS archive (possibly?). Great stuff, its been totally absorbing throughout.

Well done Mr.Harbury. A very nice photograph. I was the guy stood high up on the step ladder with the video camera . The video sequence is very pleasing. ;):)

After the silhouette shot it was a quick dash to Bristol (Filton Abbey Wood) for the passing of Tornado soon after the water stop at Bristol Parkway. Another pleasing clip of the train as it accelerated at speed through the station.

Many thanks to the crews today. Their enthusiasm was obvious to us by the mount of whistling from Tornado .....wonderful stuff. I hoped that you enjoyed your day. <BJ>
