Class 09 D4100 was spotted doing shunting at Kidderminster earlier today so presumably it now fully operational.

50035 is now fully operational after a test run on Saturday following ETH generator repairs.

Coldest night of the year so far tonight, so no doubt more diesels have migrated into the new TMD at Kidderminster.

Looking foreward to the first open day. Presumably during the Spring diesel gala?

Not really by the looks when I went past earlier.
I believe the intended 'grand' opening on the Saturday with it also open to public on the Sunday (which isn't actually part of the event)

Two images of locomotives inside the new depot are here:

Edit: Sorry, I cannot get the link to work.

It does work via Google, search "svr diesel shed", and you will see a link "Gallery-Diesel Shed Appeal" and it takes you to the images.

    ...Got there in the end...

Considering the number of 50's preserved verses the relatively few liveries they can carry, it's good to see one in Intercity which is widely regarded as a colour they "nearly" carried back in t'day, had they have been retained for a further stint in traffic. The internet is already awash with complaints towards their choice of colour!!!

BR blue or large logo can get a little repetitive though I quite like NSE in a weird way.

DSC03678.JPG Here's a SVR diesel for you. 1501 failed at Bewdley South Box and retired to shed hurt. The passengers were swapped to the following train which used platform 3 and eventually the 20 arrived and took the coaches forward over an hour late. I imagine some people would have paid god money to have travellled. Last Wednesday

Yes a nice spread of different liveries across a preserved fleet is always nice to see, variety keeps interest high IMO.

On the subject of 50031, the HMS Hood association indicates there is to be a rededication ceremony on Saturday 17th September. http://www.hmshood.com/
This year is 100 years since HMS Hood was ordered and laid down and 75 years since its sinking in battle with Bismarck.

Love the 50 in intercity but can I ask why, is there a reason?

Presumably it's what the owners want. It's a bit of What If as IIRC none were in InterCity in BR days (NSE had them instead).

Looks like 50049 out on the SVR this weekend ("Open House" weekend) 0945 and 1330 departures from Kidderminster both days. ( ex-Bridgnorth at 1155 and 1540).

First time for some four years apparently.

Subject to the usual disclaimers of course....
