I'm just as much looking forward to my Guards turns as all of you are to visiting and riding on the trains!

I will not receive my Operating Notice and Working Timetables until a few days before my turns, so can some nice, kind person who has received their brochure tell me:

1) On the 6th March does the 'demolition train' with Hymek D7017 start at Minehead or Williton?

2) On 13th March, which locos are rostered on the 1045 BL - MD, 1245 MD - BL, 1545 BL - MD and 1745 MD - BL?

These are the turns I am rostered on!

Hymek starts at Minehead and runs to BL then later to Williton.
On the 13th it will be 80043/92214/92214/92214
(Hope I'm not in trouble for giving these details)

 

Hmm, haven't received my brochure yet - anyone else? Ordered tickets at the same time and they arrived very quickly though, so top marks there.

 

Thanks, Keith! I'll promise not to tell anyone that you told me this!. If you happen to be on my trains on the 13th, I'll buy you a cup of tea. Must say, I'm a bit disappointed with the repetition of haulage, I'll have to travel another day to get all the locos in.

 

To be fair, this can never please everybody. I once went to a gala where engines had a layover at a station to swap trains etc. but that only meant that every time I got off at a station and waited for the next train, the same loco was on it!

 

Whilst on the subject of getting in trouble for letting secrets out, the loco crew rosters have just been released which include all the loco movements and combinations. I can’t of course give anything away as I will be shot, hung, drawn, quartered and shot again however there are some really great movements/combinations coming.

I’ve also got some firing turns including some double heads, so I’m one lucky S&D Fan / WSR Fireman (Passed Cleaner) who has a very, very big smile on his face currently.

Apparently anybody who buys tickets for the gala will get the loco roster for all the days their ticket covers.

Yes quite correct or order the Brochure which is shown on the previous page of this post by wsr.org.uk or go direct to the WSR web-site. So it will only cost £3.50 to have all the details and working timetable. Honestly if you want to see some great combinations then you will want the Brochure and plan your time there.

I'm just going to say, Single, Double, Banking, Passenger and Goods multiplied by combinations of the engines there.

 

Anyone seen programmes for sale at lydeard shop, driving past 2moro and will pop in if so.

 

I am also looking forward to my guards turns like Ian is.
I don't need the loco roster for Saturday 5th, I already know which loco I have, Kilmersdon on the MD shuttles!
I am keeping my fingers crossed for a mixture of locos on my next turn on Sunday 13th!

Re: issues getting 44871 in, what's to stop another TOC towing with a 66 in light steam ?, can't you get away with a "minder" on the footplate if it's being towed and not powering ?.

 

I'm very confident that our guys are looking at all possibilities. And costs.

Parted with my three quid at BL shop this morning. A most excellent souvenir booklet, well worth the money and befitting of the truly memorable gala we are all so keenly looking forward to.
