And I'm teetotal now, so can't join in. :(

Back on topic before we get jumped on, any latest news on FS?

One assumes, as stated above, that everything possible is being done to get the loco fit for what will no doubt be a run with enormous publicity.

I would suggest video filmers prepare for some overhead noise as I would guess for an event like this a helicopter may well be following it for at least some of the run North.

As of 2 minutes ago, path for Tuesday 23/02/16 shown as available - neither cancelled or removed - thus looks as if the southbound run to London will also be the "light engine" test of the replacement spring given that there is no working to Scarborough shown for Tuesday.

Don't worry, there is another LNER pacific available. It's even in the preferred (by some) shade of green :)

And they best start warming it up damn quick like. Stick some blinkers on it, no-one will spot the difference.

What stock is being used on this train? Riviera, Belmond or WCR?

Even better, there's a green LMS one and I'm sure no one would notice the difference either.

After what happened with 35028 last year I think the NRM would be very foolish to hire anything from the unpredictable Mr Smith, highly unlikely to be the Belmond Pullman as I don't think they hire out their stock to third parties so take your pick, not a lot left.

    From The Works tonight.

The spring has been fitted, engine re-weighed, boiler water drained and fresh filled, and the fire lit!

If all goes to plan its a trip to the Seaside tomorrow and then a run out to London on Wednesday.
