Grubby 67008 parked up, shown on the helicopter coverage so I guess that's the chaser.

The Torbay Express carriage boards look a bit out of place but that's a minor point. Overall, a stunning sight enjoyed by the large crowds around it.

Annoyed that I will miss it today:(

67008 is probably East Coast Thunderbird. The following loco is probably the one on the blocks that brought the ecs in and is likely to be a good bit shinier.

What a fantastic promotion for railway heritage and steam traction - two major channels running live coverage - fantastic!!

Yes, I am sure that you are right. Would be nice to see the FS marked 225 doing it though.

A whole 225 set is a bit of overkill, surely? :p

Yup, no maroon support coach, just tatty blood and custard mk1s. Scotsman looks amazing though. Lot of people out on the route unsurprisingly (purely by chance I'm en route north). They must be flipping freezing.

I thought you had to have the drone in sight at all times, wherever this operator was standing there is no way he would have had the drone in his viewpoint at all times.

Im normally a supporter of drones and think theres far too much froth and over the top so caled safety concerns spouted about these machines, but this time I think the operator has goen too far with scant regard for the safety of others (and tbh the shot really isnt all that great)

in some ways, its a pity they didnt hire the Belmont pulman set for this run, 60103, with "Yorkshire Pulman" head board would have been something to remember, but given the extra weight of the pulmans, it may have been too much .

Indeed, surprisingly large crowds seen from my train as we got inside Welwyn (passed FS just S of New Barnet). Looked good, hard to tell from my seat how she was performing.

But the footage in question is of FS, and irresponsible, if the drone had coem down on the line would FS have had her big day today?

PS thought her big day was a few weeks ago at ELR

Good live TV coverage. Regrettably one of the BBC presenters who wanted to listen to the sound of FS couldn't stop his colleague from filling the space with her chatter as FS pulled away. As the BBC is in a helicopter I suspect they will be at Digswell as they did for the Top Gear event, but either way a good splash for the NRM.

Seems to be losing a bit of ground on RTT, is there something ahead slowing up progress?
