Word is the support coach today is the A1 Trust's. Looks like a Riviera set otherwise. Must be steam heated too.

Let's hope that all the rest of the ECML services can also get back to time too, as they won't have the luxury of armfuls of recovery time.

I'm sure they will. It was bloomin' cold on the line side this morning.

As I currently live close to the ECML and at a town which was once home to 60103 for a while. I thought it only right to see Flying Scotsman for myself. I watched from the safety of a nearby car park, which is usually not very well patronised with cars - but at 1025 this morning was very full!
Not a good photo but proof that I saw it. It was going at a reasonable pace (partly because of earlier stupid trespassers' behaviour it would seem) and the whistle sounded very piercing (because it's supposed to presumably!) and is, I was told, the correct type for an A3. It took some time for the car park to empty afterwards! I was very pleased to be able to see 60007 coming south shortly afterwards too at the same location. Sadly not, but it must have been great when you could! (Mods please remove 2nd image if it breaks copyright as I do not know its provenance)

Not really sure what they can do via the train, if they stop to investigate any instances it could be the weekend before they reach York.

Ominous silence from the train and RTT.

No RTT reporting again, 24 Late after the water stop.

Based on the building hype and crowds, I knew it would be chaos, I knew stations were best avoided, so I changed filming plans (was going to go for St Neots) last night and a very early start bagged me the best lineside pass position I knew within striking distance of home.

The visual pass was brilliant, the sound a complete disaster.

Found it again now 24 down.... good job that all the looped pathing was included as it could potentially be causing chaos to the regular timetabled services.

Quite a lot if they are in contact with police vehicles shadowing the progress of the train. Talk directly to those officers in the vehicles and direct them to the places where trespassing is a problem. Although, it would be more effective if they also had officers on preceding trains. Swallows up a lot of resources though.

If they can lose another 10 minutes we can get the arrival at York live on the 1.00 news!

Would there have been all this hype, media coverage, helicopters, mass trespass, police, £450 tickets, etc. if 60100 SPEARMINT was hauling the train? For this was one of Alan Pegler's favourites and the one that he wanted to buy in 1963. However, someone suggested 60103 would be a better bet because of the more famous name - and the rest, as they say, is history!

Somehow, I can't help thinking that an engine named after chewing gum would have the same appeal...
