that shot says it all, she is truely back, and by the looks of it running like a sewing machine :)
Can anyone shed any light on why the A1 trusts POB was used, as it must have been pre arranged, the stock came from Eastleigh i believe, and the POB must have been at Stewarts Lane.

Seeing the BBC helicopter down to the level of the train, you can just imagine the tabloid headlines if the heli had got into difficulties flying at zero feet......

The DBS 67 that dragged the ensemble into Kings X was parked-up with the empty stock outside York Station at 4-ish, so I'm guessing it was that.

You couldn't win there - drowned out by the copter first, then second the rattle of the massed hordes plus machine guns as a soundtrack!

    Thanks Mark.
Thanks Mark. I have always wanted to try the try the location, and as most of the tours on ECML stop at Huntingdon, today was the perfect opportunity with the Scotsman having a clear run through. A shame about the choppers & the trespassing, but it was all to be expected. Regards, Liam

My humble offerings from yesterday & today at Welham Green.

There were a lot of 'normals' that appeared out of the woodwork yesterday, but that was eclipsed this morning - when I turned up there were just 4 of us, by the time Scotsman did - both platforms were heaving, with only a couple of railway staff on hand........

Not sure Simon. I know the 225 overtook the Scotsman early on, but not sure of the location. Thanks for the comment.

An HP42, beautiful. Wonder if that's Grand Parade Mk.1 or Mk.2?

This has made me smile! :)

Just ripped this from the Beeb's footie coverage..........

"Liverpool are steaming along nicely here. Not quite as nicely as the Flying Scotsman, more like the Transpennine Express between Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly."

Seems like Scotsman fever reaches far & wide!

Maybe the blower was working itself, so the crew had a word with the BBC, and asked for a bit of wind assistance to bring the fire round.

    Will get my coat...........

Scotsman 225 was just behind 103 at Offord, it passed as I started walking back to the car.
The helicopter was well to the side of the track, in an area relatively inaccessible to anyone. A different view is seen on the clip I posted earlier. Taking Spamcan81s rules for helicopters, I think they were probably OK.
