    It would.

There are a couple of gauge issues which Blue Anchor Bay Garage have looked at for me.

So, I will get another train ride, perhaps behind a 4F, tomorrow to collect it. Such a hardship....:)

53809, 6960 Raveningham Hall and the DMU were in service yesterday (Saturday).

D6575 was used for a driver experience course and was seen hauling a goods train. <BJ>

Is it possible to request that a certain headboard be used on a steam service I would be travelling on, on the 30th April.

Yes, it's here for the rest of the year. It's too early to say whether it will be running that day.
    You can only try!

Hopefully issues with gauges, as opposed to said car being too wide for a garage or gateway and coming off second best?

Service trains yesterday (Tuesday) were hauled by 53809, 6960 Raveningham Hall plus the DMU.

D6575 was filmed transferring the goods train from Minehead to Norton Fitzwarren. <BJ>

New direct rail service from Sussex to the West Somerset I assume.

(HOBC means the High Output Ballast Cleaner)
    This lifted from another website.

Last night was the first night of a major program of ballast cleaning on the Arun Valley line. For 18 of the next 20 weeks, the HOBC will be visiting daily Monday to Thursday and working between approximately 10pm and 5.30am travelling from and to Taunton via the West Coastway each way, a journey of around 4 and a half hours each way. Works have started around Amberley and around 10 miles of track is being treated, finishing I believe in the Adversane area. Although the MFS wagons have appeared once or twice before on single line or tunnel relay jobs, this is the first time I believe the HOBC has ventured into Sussex.

Mention of Adversane bought to mind this photo of the down distant signal there, from 1922. The resident signalling experts here will know immediately the significance of the wedge-shaped device to the right of the signal post. Sadly, the semaphore signals on that line have recently been swept away.

Aah, that explains why the HOBC has been late arriving at the WSR just recently.

Yes. The problem was that the heating in one of the three cars wasn't working, but this has now been fixed.

A bit of a shame IMHO. The 4F hauling a three coach local train was a good substitute.*

    * possibly the understatement of the year? <BJ>

News from the Great Central Railway.

''The good news is that we have now progressed negotiations with the West Somerset Railway for a visit by their Fowler 7F 2-8-0 no 53808 to GCR for a late May visit. This means it's starring at our Railways at Work gala from 20 to 22 May alongside ex GWR 2-8-0 T no 4247, both in BR black livery''.

53808 will look good hauling the windcutter wagons or the mixed goods on the double track section.
Also an insight to how the 7F will appear on the WSR with a full rake of blood and custards. <BJ>

I hope they send it back as clean as it is received. The team have done a wonderful job during the recent overhaul.

Do you need to show local residents card pass with ticket to inspect or can I leave it in car once purchased. Don't like carrying things around as I tend to lose them so keep safely in car.
