Must say 'she' is looking a bit masculine there. ;)

Good to see the second tender has been found,

    Flying Scotsman Robson Green?

Good grief, is that yet another argument about exactly what shade the poor thing should be painted?

Well it seems to be a politically correct film as it has locomotives of all nationalities and colours so perhaps 60103 will be the first transgendered character

Thanks Trespassers . I was going to watch her myself. (Not on the track of course).

    http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/flying_...tators_will_get_too_close_to_tracks_1_4489552

The legendary locomotive was due to run a special excursion train – which was already sold out – from Ely to Norwich and back next month.
However, the trip has been called off, amid fears of a repeat of the scenes from February this year, when about 60 people endangered their lives by getting close to the tracks as the engine steamed through St Neots, in Cambridgeshire.
Its journey was halted for about 15 minutes, costing hundreds of thousands of pounds due to knock-on delays for other trains.

Cancelled is cancelled I suppose but why pick on that tour as a possible "trespass problem" and not others?

It's not anywhere near as high profile a run as the inaugural run so why the caution? If you know where the problem areas are, let the police know well in advance for each area and it's not difficult to have one or two bobbies standing when the train's likely to pass to advise crowds to keep back.

Well thats very strange. And I quote "Network Rail have not said we can’t do the journey between Norwich and Ely"
    Hmmm.

No mention of BTP advice or input.

    Hmmmm

"we have decided to do the sensible thing"

I presume this refers to the 25 May trip from London Victoria and that only the section beyond Ely is cancelled. There are indeed umpteen level crossings on that stretch, policing all of which would be difficult and expensive. And an alternative short trip to either Peterborough (or beyond) or Stowmarket would be almost as bad in terms of the number of level crossings.

Whilst its true there are a lot of access points to the line, more so than nearly anywhere else on the network (I know I have checked out most of them) this was not a choice the promoters were equipped to make, It would have been NR and BTP input. At least one of them hasn't made that input and there is no mention of the other. And the 25th may trip has been removed - entire trip is cancelled. Sorry but "spectators" is just an excuse to mask the real reason.

And I think I'm right in saying that they'll charge you too. A quick web search found this, assiming its typical around 60 quid per hour per copper. https://www.cambs.police.uk/about/planspoliciesreports/charge.asp

I wonder if it's because of the Drone inicdent on the NYMR. Norfolk being flat maybe they think theres a chance of more people flying drones to take pics.

Yes sounds likely, The winds across the fens make drone flying tricky.

Perhaps they're worried that a stray tractor may get in the way.

Seems to be a strange decision, but possibly sends a message out at the same time.

That said, it seemed as if many "normals", caused the problems on FS's return.

Maybe they should be educated at lineside, or pics forwarded to BTP, know this has been done to death before, but cancellation because of trespass concerns has not....
