It was a very interesting morning. Just glad my day off happened to co-inside. Bit of laughter when their guy on the ground said,'Dont know what you guys were worried about, we've been over worse!'

In answer to your query about the amount of Dogfish in a train.
We can't beat 11, but can say we have had 9 Coal Hoppers acting as ballast hoppers on the NYMR.
And for the future we have 5 Sealions and a Seacow plus 1 dogfish, which means a tonnage of 220t of ballast, but that will be a while away until we get them all overhauled.

That sounds like a pretty mean bit of tonnage! While hunting for parts I found my eyes drawn to the 2 HTV's we have lurking in our Junk-tion. Half tempted to have a crack at them in the near future....

"Two items of news on the railway. Firstly, the P/Way Dept have finished reballasting the line to their desired 'deep ballast' standard. Secondly, in unrelated news, all our platforms are now at rail level."

Wow, you'll need plenty of steps to get on the carriages.

    :):)
That should make the ballast depth 3ft or so.
That's why you need so many Dogfish then.:)

That's a running joke in our house. "Look children, a huge pile of rusting crap! It must be a steam railway!"

    Or should I say, a non-running joke...
