Definitely double headed and Ian's Black 5 is doing day 3.

Well the black 5 is on the roster sheet.

 

Presumably the clearances issues that prevented the Duchess running over the Marches last year haven't been resolved.

 

If thats so thats most disappointing.

 

Given the news about Day 3, the odds are shortening rapidly....

 

Wow ! Yet again day three fails to live up to expectation ! Think I will now cancel my hotel on Wednesday night ! With the double heading finishing at Bristol, you can bet your bottom dollar a box will join the action on day three ! Shame the pair can't carry on over the Marches, at least there will be a suitable loco for the coast, if indeed it goes up it.

Just noticed previous post from Evening Star re timings!

 

Unexpectedly this is showing as a DB Cargo operation in RTT. The shadow diesel is WCRC ?

 

Surely they will put the pretty one up front and tuck the donkey in behind?

 

Damn, I'll have to rethink my plans too, I was going for day 1 and 3. Not that my plans were very firm anyway.

 

Keeping positive "IF" it is 44871 on day 3 then it would be interesting to see if Chester (rather than Crewe) is back on the agenda. Will wait and see.

Anyone travelling from the SE should check .. Train strike by Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express is on. Some services are running but many are cancelled, curtailed or retimed.

 

Can assure you it's WCR, because I know who is driving

 

When is the strike. That could be good news if less traffic gives GB IX a clear run.

 

there is a crew change at Crewe

 

Tuesday and Wednesday.
Brighton to London Bridge line is the most affected, as is Horsham / Guildford, so outside the area for this, but Victoria has a reduced service.

 

Most likely a height issue, as 4965 ran twice over the Marches last year.
