Maybe reading too much into it? At least he posts to correct/inform when he feels the need arises. How many main-line loco owners do that?

RTT has just a short stop at Crewe, originally longer for water & loco change, if that's what was planned. Any up to date info as to how long the stop is going to be? Can't see Hereford to Barton loop without a water stop as it must be 150 miles...

Irrespective of the timings, I suspect a decent stop at Crewe for servicing will be required.

Full tank on leaving Hereford, after the tender rear given a good wash down by the overflow!

Edit: RalphW: On uksteam.info they have a stop of around one and a half hours at Crewe.

Thanks for the update, yes 13.52 to 15.20 but the Real Time column on RTT shows a stop on only 5 minutes, alongside the WTT times as on uksteam... Most odd.

Abergavenny Station was passed at low speed, which surprised me, as I was expecting a good charge before the right hand turn up the bank, Though I still got drenched with ash ! The diesel was idling again, which was good to see. I do wonder if if wasn't for Mr Churchill being on the regulator, would another driver have had more help from the rear these last few days. For me the twó climbs of Dainton, with a equivalent load of 12/13 coaches was the standout highlight of the first three days. Hope there's more highlights to come over the comings days.

If you read RTT carefully you will see that it shows the train still in Platform 12 & a departure time so there is a conflict there anyway.

Could it be the loco has detached for servicing hence a departure time.

RTT does many great things but also has quite a few limitations ;)

Post 456 is pretty clear that 46115 will not be available so it must be likely that one of the Jubilees will stand in.From what I understood the recent problem when 45699 could only come on at Sellafield was down to platform availability at Carlisle, with 3 charters running that day.Galatea did the whole route southbound in February and northbound last year so gauging may not be an issue. With 46233 not available the engine could stay in Scotland to bring the train south on Tues.

Hey, compared to 2015, we are overjoyed to say "It is now day three, and passengers have yet to have pure diesel"

Galatea failed in the run up to the trips she was expected to do replacing 46201 last Thursday (21st). That doesn't mean she isn't fit for tomorrow of course. But if the odds are even money between the two Jubilees with Guardsman as an outside bet, I think my money's on Leander for tomorrow.

Would be nice to see Leander out and about but who knows what may end up on the front (will tangmere fit around the coast ;)).

Has it been confirmed yet how far the last leg is steam to? RYTC site says Doncaster, whereas UKSteam and Railway Herald read P'Boro? Would like to see 45690 wizzing through Grantham.

I could travel 30 mins to Pboro then walk to Eastfield if it were taken off there :( Will just see the Diesel through Sandy most likely.
