That how I felt when we stopped for steam to take over on last June 6 for CME.

This sadly must be the move of 45407 that will not now happen, it seems.

I think this was mentioned elsewhere that the emergency work on 44871 delayed the work on 45407.

Correct, Ralph. Rileys burnt the euphemistic midnight oil to get 44871 back to full health, but they can't be in two places at once. I take my hat off to them for what they continue to achieve; it's a shame that IR himself has been driven away from here though :(

Well, in his own words, he rarely posts here now, and indeed he felt it necessary to set up his own forum, primarily to avoid the froth and criticism by armchair critics. To me that's effectively being driven away, and NP is a poorer place for it. I think that we will have to agree to disagree on this :)

All that is written overlooks the one pertinent fact. Namely that not once has IVR or his business been maligned on this forum. On the contrary, they are almost universally lauded.
Ian has made it plain he finds this forum objectionable. Thats his truth and he is entitled to it but can we please stop colluding in the delusion that the forum is anti Riley or unwelcoming?
Goodness knows how many valuable and reasonable contributors are deterred from posting simply to avoid treading on eggshells generating yet more ire followed by a wave of predictable appeasement.
Cue the very same, barrage of critics and this post mod removed, no doubt ........
    Hope springs eternal Henry ......

I'm a fairly regular member of this forum and a lot of the time I find it objectionable!!

So much absolute rubbish is spouted on here it's a joke at times.

This is a thread for LE moves and test runs, let's keep it that way before it become another pointless nat pres sparring zone...

Mr Riley is not the only good man who has been driven away from this forum and yes, the place is poorer for it.
Nat Pres is full of armchair keyboard warriors.

Elected not to contribute would be more accurate than "driven away" . Reasons for doing so may be manyfold.
Mods feel free to delete or move this as deemed necessary bearing in mind thread and other issues.

Silence on the matter on this thread would be the best option imo.

Brings back memories of the Dawn Raider on 19th May 1994 with 44767 and 9 pristine maroons for the Jacobite Season; 0730 from Derby, skirting Leeds then through Skipton and over the the S&C to Carlisle. No guarantees. One of the best tours we ever did behind 44767.
