I take it things have died down in the eternal WSR bunfight thread, then? :Troll:

Perhaps he can recreate this using the 3CIG as the donor ;)

    Hello,
I have heard that a 3 car DMU was proposed for the basis as a GWR 3 car Railcar.....new bodies placed on the DMU chassis.

    So why not?
2 x DMU or 125, put a new body on top....!

I disagree with that, I think he can still devote all the time the society needs and deserves - absolutely none.

Don't think its our hero quitting but the 'other' guy. No doubt Stuart has taken over and dissolved the dissident group ready for the great day work will begin on the unit paving the way for its glorious return to service.

Another key success in the Reeder portfolio of projects. At this rate #Ian Riley had better watch his back as the undisputed king of the engineering and restoration pile. It is with great fortune we have natural born leaders like the magnificent Stuart up and coming through the ranks. Who better to grasp the mantle of railway preservation and thrust it deep in to the 21st Century and beyond. Too many dreamers and muppets out there who think its OK to waste peoples time and cash on no-hope and hair-brained schemes. GOOD ON YOU STUART!

The 3-CIG has been parked in the loop at Ongar for weeks. EOR haven't seemed to be using the run rould round lately probably because their only operational steam loco has to be top & tailed with a diesel. Hopefully this will change with the diesel gala this weekend and more powerful steam locos visiting soon.

As I understand it the top and tailing has also been brought about by the lack of a run round at Ongar whilst some track repairs are sorted.

@SR.Keoghoe I'm not sure and we end up way off topic , but @stuartreeder 's involvement is more than enough to strike fear

This has made my morning, nothing like a giggle over breakfast.

I wonder if any of these groups know that 2859 is not owned by Llangollen Railway, but Llangollen Railway Great Western Locomotive Group who also own 5532. It's a trivial difference I know, but if you can't get who owns it right it makes it hard to buy it.

Even harder when you want to buy it with other peoples money :)
