I did see in Heritage Railway that it was being looked into running the train into the Docks.

Although the track runs next to the new stadium, there is nowhere to safely disembark the pax, and the docks passenger terminal is a: inside a secure area and b: further away from the ground than Southampton Central.

If it counts, I think there was some years ago a football special run from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster for a Kidderminster Harriers cup match. I recall it was the 8F in charge.

have been told that some one way tickets to southampton for £60 are available but you must have a match ticket as well and make your own way home from southampton.

I think Hoskins will need to park the thing in front of their goal, its about the only way they will win down there.

Quite possible as the team are returning on the train, not travelling out on it. So probably best part of an empty coach outbound.

Looks like Lord Dowding is flying with the ECS down from Crewe to Southall - has gone from 50L at Crewe to 90E at Northampton.

I'm led to believe it's loco + POB + 6xMk1/Mk2 + Pullman, all of them very shiny & sparkly, although I've yet to see any lineside shots/footage to confirm that...

Well you can do the maths without too much difficulty. It'll need to be be away from the Croydon area by 11 and will probably leave Soton around 6.

Happy to oblige :). 34052 and friend at Mill Meece. Still no nameplates fitted.
Sorry not to have fotted the whole train but having seen the Arpley to Crewe HS move on RTT this morning I played safe.

You are correct about the seven coaches, all of them looking quite nice although I have reservations about how well carmine and cream suits an a/c Mk2 . Don't think 7 coaches is over taxing either of them !

Not according to MI5s website, in order to protect the secrets of he world I have encrypted the times here:

    Clapham junction : 00110001 00110000 00111010 00110000 00111000
    Selhurst : 31 30 3a 33 30
    West Croydon : MTA6NDE=

But it definitely leaves before 11.
As this trip isn't a flying secret run for steam dreams owners I guess putting timings, even encrypted isn't breaking the law or running risk of a fate worthy of Kim Philby.

Just be thankful that Mr. Hosking has had the foresight to run this train for his club. A refreshing change no matter what you think his team's players.

That may be too much like guesswork for those photters who want to get to their location about 5 minutes before it arrives.:Snaphappy:

I was not really referring to his specific team, just all those in the top couple of divisions.

I must confess that the antics of professional football players won't be uppermost in my mind if I get to see 34052 as planned.

I dont think they are demanding to drive the engine up to the stadium gates 30 minutes before kickoff.

No but they could always ask for A few Man United extra time minutes... Fergie time ?
