    I have read that this 66 has also been donated or should that be claimed (???) by the NRM when its finished its commercial life.

    As to how 'special' it is, I would say that as the final member of a class of loco that has revolutionised & dominated diesel traction in the UK for the last 18 years, it has as good a reason to become part of the National Collection as some of the members of the collection.

    Surely something in a made up pseudo livery of an organisation that never owned it, should not be in a national museum. That would not be a very good way to tell the story of the class 66 and it's operators. Maybe this 'shed' will be given a proper livery in a year or two. Creosote?
