Does it look as if the WD will be ready for the summer season? Or is the repair of the B12 more of a priority?

As far as I know, the B12 is in front of the WD in terms of completion date.

It's NOT an official comment, but I personally highly doubt the WD will run this side of summer.

I guess there is no great rush to get the WD back in to service for Summer as the NNR seems to be doing alright for motive power at the moment.

Anyone know how the footbridge and turntable projects are progressing?

The footbridge bases have now been set into the platforms at Sheringham, the structure itself is currently being painted I believe.

The turntable has not arrived on site yet, so any progress has been on a planning level.

  8. Thought I'd share what's on offer on the NNR during the months of April/May.

I would love to see any photos of the Y14 where the blue livery actually shows up properly! The one in the preceding post is about the first one I've seen. GER blue seems especially difficult to photograph, I've noticed the same with the 0-6-0T at the NRM, and the 2-4-0 at Bressingham.

The GER blue is very difficult to photograph. It's a deep, dark rich colour that needs sunshine on it to see the blue, in overcast conditions it looks almost black.

Went up to the NNR today (28th may) so my little update. (Not official NNR update)

    At Sheringham

Workmen working on the roof on a Saturday on the tourist information centre end of the new building (running a bit over I think)?

A new sleeping accommodation for the volunteers is nearly finished at Sheringham.

The concrete pads are down and waiting for the footbridge to come back from the painters (June some time so one of the station staff told me.

    At Holt

A concrete pad is down next to the goods shed for a winter garage for the Austin K2 Lorry and the M&GN horse dray.

    Lovely photo!
I quite agree with you about GER blue. A sort of elusive mystique about it, if you ask me.
I'm sure of the NP stalwarts could have a good old barney over several pages about how it's the wrong colour (on the basis of photos alone)...

Glad Black Prince has nameplates again. Were the old set presented to David Shepherd at the handover ceremony for the locomotive?

One was given to David Shepherd at the hand over ceremony and the other was given to Julian Birley at a recent board meeting after the two replacements had been made.

Wow the Cromer end of platform 1 has really changed since last I was there (last year). Looking forward to seeing it properly at the gala or members' day or with luck before

The footbridge looks great. Slightly surprised at the negative comments on FB.

Indeed, I would have thought it obvious that the foot crossing would still be able to be used by those that need to.
