Quite interesting to compare the RTT details - The York-York sector with the Class 60 is shown as timed for 'diesel , max 60mph, hauling 600 tonnes'; York-KX with 60163 is shown as timed for 'diesel (yes, we know :) ), max 75mph, hauling 420 tonnes'. Now, presumably 60163 will have her POB to add to the train, but it does show the lack of rapid acceleration the Class 60s have, even with what appears to be quite a lightweight train. 9 on? Who would be a train planner, eh? Still, will Tornado even notice such a small ;) weight hanging off the drawbar?

Class 60s are geared for shifting heavy loads not for speed running.

OTT reports the same with this note "This train has been cancelled with reason code OU." Does anyone know what code OU is?

Well, yes, quite...but the point is that it shows how acceleration rates can be 'tweaked' for planning/pathing by putting big loads into the program - hence we regularly see the computer showing 'diesel, 715 tonnes' for a steam run

I have a first hand report that the 60 never hooked off, and has just departed York with the train

60163 appears to have returned within the NRM boundaries so something could well be afoot.

Tornado definitely has a DBC crew on board as one of them has posted on FB,no mention of any problems.

Just heard that DBC crew travelling home on the cushions, apparantly a computer/paperwork problem.

I suspect my Crayfish Cocktail will still taste the same with a much lower numbered 60 on the front. Having said that the interesting Wsp snatches from 60017 might mean I will wear it.

    Paperwork eh . . Tssk.

Perhaps a new member of staff in the office thought that she was a diesel locomotive when observing the date she was constructed and only rostered a driver for the trip.
It was only when looking on the web that they found out what she actually is and realised they also needed someone to feed 60163.

Talk from on board the tray is that she had been deregistered from TOPS while on NRM property and hadn't been reregistered in time. As clear as mud to me and no idea if true.

Actually you wouldn't want it to happen to any TOC would you or was it perhaps the loco owner? But it does seem to have been one of those 'jobsworth' problems. Quite remarkable really that a technical registration matter can halt everything. Sensible at one level but bureaucratic at another.
