I'm hearing that 6201 is frame for Saturday's trip from Derby to Scarborough pending successful test runs this week.

That would be a commendably swift bit of gauging work if it is permitted.

It's staying at Derby after the test run on Friday, arrives 16.30, If all goes well it will do Saturday's run to York. Monday should see it leave for Southall.

Isn't the loaded test run on Wednesday ? Friday would only be a light engine move ?

Posts on another thread yesterday suggested that the trip to Stratford (now on Thu??) is a light test, and the loaded test is the run to Derby on Friday

RTT has the trip to Stratford down for Thursday. The original path for Wednesday is cancelled.

If I was a passenger on this Saturday's trip, I would be a tad nervous. If the light test run doesn't go to plan, it means it's a 47 hauled trip, unless PRCLT cancels last minute. Hope all goes well for everyone concerned. Also, when was the last time a class 8 was substituted by another class 8 ? Feels like a long time ago !

Yes, old news I'm afraid. It's all in the light engine/test run thread.

PMRT page was updated yesterday with confirmed times for the trip and stating that it is hauled by 46233.

Just because it doesn't look to be on a tour Saturday doesn't mean it won't be out on test, they need to recertify the thing sometime.

Well IIRC the issue with the Duchess was no small job, so wouldn't the the loco need testing too ?

According the Railway Herald, the repairs to the Duchess's piston won't be complete by Saturday, so all hopes are pinned on Lizzie. Given how little running in she has had, I'll be very surprised if there's no DL on the tail. I hope all goes well, and I'm really looking forward to seeing her come through Oxford in a couple of weeks' time.

Lizzie reported failed with a bogie wheel problem at the front. Info comes from photographer E.Bobrowski. I'm not risking it.Now diesel hauled
