Spent a couple of pleasant hours at Tyseley yesterday morning. Good to have a stroll around the workshops and plenty of train movements. Well done to all involved, your volunteers were really friendly too! DSC_0255.jpg DSC_0257.jpg DSC_0286.jpg DSC_0292.jpg

What's the little industrial in the third picture? it's quite unusual and looks rather cute. Is it owned by VT?

I presume it's Avonside 0-4-0T 'Cadbury No. 1', which is owned by VT.

I blame the picture quiz thread. Spend far too much time on there getting answers wrong. :(

I went on Saturday with a group of friends and we had a very enjoyable day.
I understand there's another event in September and, depending on the date. I'm seriously considering going to that one too!

Yes it does, got an email from VT yesterday confirming they are having a 3 day open weekend from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th September. More interestingly it says "We will have all the expected train rides on the museum's demonstration line, locomotive cavalcades and turntable demonstrations, PLUS a very special guest locomotive - details to be announced soon." Followed by "PLEASE NOTE: We will be selling tickets online in advance from 1st August. Due to demand, we do not anticipate any tickets being for sale on the day."
Given this is the weekend before the SVR's 'Pacific Power', I think I can guess who the special guest is...
