Stating the obvious, but probably best not to comment as we don't own the locomotive. At least there will be another class 8 out there with plenty of power margin.

They were posted to a public Facebook page, you can share them where you like...if the poster didn't want them shared they should have set their privacy settings accordingly. If you put it on social media unless you explicitly block people from doing so it's the equivalent of being a town cryer and shouting about what your doing in the middle of the street...

Hence why the new photo has been taken off. Block or not, it's still not cricket to extract photos from someone's private account and put them in a public place without stating whether permission has been obtained. It's like the BBC taking and using films from YouTube accounts without permission, which has happened before.

Anyway, what's done is done, and we'll see it in the metal soon enough.

Very true. It will appear when it's ready. I'd be more worried about the weather-repelling film that might be applied, should the owner be feeling <ahem> 'mischievious', tbh... (Owner's perogative and all that...).

Sadly there's lots of photo thieves on Facebook too :( - but that's for another thread...

While hoovering from someone's private account is wrong, I have to totally disagree there, the ones I shared here were shared to a public facebook page and I copied them from there.

The beef is with the person who shared them to the page, not with me.

Simple - if you don't want it shared, don't put it online.

There's not need to be like that- I never said nor implied I had beef with you. But the 35011 page clearly shows it has been shared from someone's private account, and a whole string of photos appeared on here before your post which were from said account- I just happened to reply to your post, that's all, so sorry if you've been offended. Anyway, having said my piece, I consider the matter closed.

Don't know what all the whingeing and brow beating is for. There were photos of BI Line at Carnforth in the Steam Beano this month in the same postion and pretty much the same place as what appeared above. Not exactly secret squirrel status

Don't tell me 'I don't think we should be discusssing this on this public intertnet forum'…

Agreed; all the complaints seem to be originating in house. Be happy that there is news of 35018.

The important thing is that at least there has been news about 35018, and more to the point, its good news, boiler back in frames, motion on, chassis seems to be complete, and now a fire lit in the firebox, all points to one thing, that she is now coming to the final stages of her restoration and its only months now, hopefully not years before 35018 will be seen pulling into Carnforth to undertake her light test run to be followed by a loaded test .

Surely any unauthorised copying and sharing of someone else's photos is breaking copyright? It's certainly impolite.
You might just as well say if a photo appears in a book or magazine it is OK to share anywhere you like.

Is the original poster of the photos complaining?

The main issue with copyright of photos on the Internet is when does copyright infringement accrue . If you put a photo on a web site and someone copies the link and posts it on to Internet forum. Is that copyright infringement. Can this be deemed has unofficial sharing without the owners consent.
