Yep. If it runs smokebox first from BL then it would be tender first to Par .....not a good idea.

Unless there's to be a lot of shunting, next to the tender. <BJ>

For those of you who use Twitter, I'll be a dawlish warren this morning live broadcasting the Torbay Express and Royal Dutchy going past.

To watch the video, click this link, and a a tweet will appear with the link to my live view...

    http://twitter.com/trumpet_robin

I will also place it under #dawlishsteamlive

Should be online about 11:15 for the Torbay, and 11:45 for the Dutchy.

I promise not to talk or sound like Peter Snow and wet myself as something goes past....

I did say upthread the Duchess would overhang a bit, even if the wheelbase does fit a 65ft table.

Who's bright idea was it to put a fence within 2ft of the table well anyway ?.

In fairness, given that most things fit, even an A4 I think it was probably an honest mistake...

Can someone explain why they need a fence around a turntable when it hasn't been necessary since they were first installed back in the mists of time

I think the shed roads of the roundhouse are in use for non railway purposes now so need dividing from the working depot, still shoulden't be putting it that close mind.

Because it's inside DB cargos yard and as a live site they have to fence it off. And it's to keep the roundhouse separate where there is a taxi firm and a mechanic !!

Cant help but agree with this comment, NP is now a very different place. There are a few missing faces these days and I can understand why, when you have to plough through so much repetitive back biting and whinging.

    Whiteball.

First is a pull zoom shot of The Duchess, then Tornado, next is a fixed wide shot of the two ascending, ending with a side by side comparison of the two climbs.

It's not often steam attacks Dainton from a standing start at Totnes. Looking at RTT and the time that the Duchess took from Totnes to Dainton it compares well with a few Cross Country and Great Western times I looked at. Must have sounded pretty good, wish I had been there to see.
