Nothing up at the moment. Admittedly I booked so soon because it's my first time with Tyseley's Panniers, even without knowing what the itinerary was. Might have been quite eager but we'll soon see what's in store. :)

Having done two in the past you won't be disappointed.

Start at about 2.30 where they have really got into their stride.

Still like to see them go back to Melton Mowbray. That was one of the best railtours I've done.

I think the Tyseley - Stratford - Worcester - Lickey - Tyseley route is better as it has more banks and you get the return to through New St ! Apart from the climb past Daw Mill, the route is pretty flat, though Melton is a nice place to set down.

With the Pannier Pair you don't need banks to hear noise, just find them a section where they can reach their 45mph limit. Issue with the Snow Hill lines is with the frequency of services you regularly get checked and so are forced to ease off.

The Pannier Chopper tour is no longer on the booking site. :(

I'm hoping it is to prevent further people booking before it is officially announced rather than it isn't running.

    Hmm?

During WCRC's absence from the mainline, there was some suggestion that VT may be looking to another TOC to operate their trains.

The VT website now includes a link to the Rail Operations Group website.

ROG is a TOC which is getting into charter work and, among other things, operates Class 20s on movements of London Underbround stock,

Class 20s are nicknamed "choppers" by enthusiasts.

A tour with the name "Pannier Chopper" appeared on the VT website, but has since been removed.

Pity about the wind noise and I doubt very much that any filming from windows will be allowed.

The VT website includes this: http://www.vintagetrains.co.uk/railops-tour-1/
"This Charity Charter is being run by Rail Operations Group as its first Charter service."

Well I hope the Panniers are running, I had confirmation last night that all were interested and would have booked 4 tickets this morning. Never mind guess we were all a bit quick to try and jump on board!
After the success of 1Z48 I do wonder if VT might be interested in commemerating The Zulu...
Ahh got to love a bit of speculation!

I believe that is exactly the case.

There were rumours of other TOC involvement during WCRC's issues, but thus far this has been nothing but rumour.

Wrong FOC I'm afraid - GB Railfreight operates class 20s on the LUL stock moves not ROG. ROG operate its own two class 37s and some 47s acquired from Riviera.

Yes, of course, you're right - I was confusing the GBRF tube stock movements with EMU movements operated by ROG. Sorry about that.
