Decent running from Oxford to Banbury. Max 73.5. Wolvercot Jn to Banbury approaches slightly better than even time.

All nice running and effortless with it. Really messy pathing around Birmingham. Tyseley to Kidderminster took 70 min as it was supposed to but all slow stuff between other services. SVR service trains held us up. The diesel service was late!! But we slipped into Bridgnorth just in time to release the 1445 service train.

Really appreciated riding in the newly painted TSO for a Standard fare. I gather it was too fiddly to reassemble Sunday's TBX formation.

Two shots from this morning. Under the (hideous!) electrification masts at Reading and accelerating through the centre road at Oxford.

If you get above 40MPH between Dorridge and Stourbridge you've done well, extremely tedious section with the frequent stoppers.

My Dad and I travelled on that train as well (delayed 16.15 service). Some nice WR sounds from the Manor
    A great day out today.

My footage of her at Wormleighton near Fenny Compton, Stourbridge and Eardington Bank. Enjoy.

The 1615 ex Bridgnorth was quite a lively trip given that the Manor had 7 up. Just a pity that Taw Valley failed its FTR if indeed that is what the SVR do prior to hauling an air brake train .

At last years Manors event 7802 hauled a 10 coach set Kidderminster to Bridgnorth on the Sunday ( included dining carriages), and 7820 hauled the return .

Ironically, talking about the problems getting a path, there were severe signalling problems just outside Slough, and a stream of IC125s jammed hop at red lights on the UP. The down wasn't too bad and Tornado was barely a whisker late at Iver

Anoyingly the air system was checked a few days ago and found in order. Checks this morning found a problem with the system. As TV is the only air fitted steam loco we were forced to use a class 50 diesel.

TV is air fitted but not air braked. Loco retains steam brake, tender is vac clever valving allows the air brakes on the train to be operated proportionally .

Here are some of my smartphone photos to show the superb variety of motive power in use today on the SVR:[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Thanks to everyone on the SVR for making us feel so welcome on your wonderful Railway. Thanks also to DBC, UK Railtours and the A1 trust for an excellent trip on the ML. Today demonstrated that a good, well thought out itinerary for ML Steam can produce very satisfying results for the passengers. Today's trip was a real tonic in the current somewhat patchy Steam tour market.
    Overall a cracking day out.

Thank goodness the manual signal boxes have just gone and the signalling 'modernised' at Banbury then.
Such 'improvements' will soon happen there as well.

Agree with that. Standing at Bridgnorth just a few away from a massive array of locomotives of all shapes, sizes and ages does bring home to you the spectator advantages of this location although perhaps they need another footbridge just for the photographers! And on the Banbury signalling point that @Nick Gough mentioned, at least on the SVR you have authenticity par excellence.
