Tickets are like luggage labels to be worn as buttonholes

Ah, that's what it was. I was trying to remember as we've had a few discussions at Kiddy about them.

Not just Bulleids that do that - I was at Amberley the other day and the 2' gauge "Polar Bear" contrived to do exactly the same thing! We should have just got out and pushed ...

My reaction to all this hype, closed stations, security guards, people patrolling the line with radio comms, and all the rest, is to stay away! However, the Saturday before, (17th) looks like the last day of the timetable "C" service for 2016, so that will be my day out on the SVR. Hopefully just a "normal" busy day on the line, before the madness of the following week.

If you think I am being negative, then so be it, I don't mind. I hope the weather is good, everything runs to plan, and everyone has a pleasant stress-free experience.

The SVR's otherwise nicely put together viewing locations page on the official site could do with some clarification as regards the "Our Stations" section. First it says that station access will be restricted to ticket-holders, but this doesn't match the list of restricted stations that follows, which omits both Bridgnorth and Bewdley. Bridgnorth is easily dealt with as it's clearly explained in the following section, but what about Bewdley station? Unless I'm missing it, that's not covered anywhere on the page.

It includes the rededication of Hood, Railart at Kidder Museum and the last Evening Scenic Special of the season.

So in SVR terms, another fairly standard day. What a glory the railway is. I am disappointed to be missing the excitements of next weekend (not quick enough when tickets went on sale) but what a special railway it is.

This does appear to be an omission Platforms 2 & 3 will be closed to non ticket holders. The footbridge will also be closed. There may be some access to p1 but not guaranteed.

This is not an official reply

No worries; thanks for the strictly unofficial reply! I'm not intending to go there anyway, but I can easily see plenty of people turning up on spec. Personally I'd be fine with the whole station being out of bounds as with the other intermediate stations, just for the sake of straightforwardness. There are reasonable views to be had from public land very close by, after all.

Hopefully no restrictions on entry to The Railwaymans and King and Castle---There would be riots!

I'll double check. Definitely haven't heard anything about the K&C.

Passing through KDR later in the week and would like to make a quick visit to the museum to see the "Rail Art" exhibits ( and have a decent coffee...)

Can we actually get to the museum as casual visitors on the day, ie we are nothing to do with the Scotsman jamboree.

Or maybe access to the Museum is effectively restricted to event ticket holders?

Any kind soul have an answer please?

    Thanks
