Great Central Railway Autumn Gala 6-9 October

Can't see a thread for this one so here goes. Thought I may do something different this year - I've never been to the Great Central and the line-up for the Autumn Gala looks great. Granted it is mainly the home fleet - but what a home fleet! GWR, LMS, SR and BR Standards all represented!

Can anyone advise which is the best station to start at in terms of parking? I would be approaching from the South by the M1 so Leicester North looks closest.

 

Quorn and Woodhouse is your best bet for parking, most of the old goods yard is a avalible. Loughborough is only on street parking and that fills up pretty quickly Both Rothley and Leic North have limited parking.

I would agree. A field the west side of the line at Quorn and Woodhouse has also been used as well for parking. You can either leave the M1 at either junction 22 ( head west to join the B591, then turn off just north of Copt Oak ) or 21.
