‘Mickey Mouse’ for Severn Valley gala

    After a gap of 17 years, LMS Ivatt ‘2MT’ 2-6-2T No. 41312 will return to the Severn Valley Railway for the line’s Spring Steam Gala in 2017.

    The first visiting locomotive to be announced for the SVR’s March 18-20 event, the ‘Mickey Mouse’ tank last graced the Bridgnorth-Kidderminster line in March 2000.

    Currently based at the Mid-Hants Railway, No. 41312 recently starred in the ‘Watercress Line’s’ Autumn Steam Gala alongside the SVR’s own ‘Flying Pig’ LMS Ivatt ‘4MT’ 2-6-0 No. 41306.

    Also in steam during the October 21-23 event were fellow LMS stablemates No. 46100 Royal Scot and ‘Black Five’ No. 45379, as well as ‘7F’ No. 53809, ‘9F’ No. 92212 and BR Standard ‘4MT’ No. 76017, the latter making its first gala appearance since returning to steam after its protracted overhaul.

    No details of any other visiting engines to the SVR’s Spring Steam Gala have been released, although further information is expected in the coming months.

    He's got it from the SVR press release which correctly states that it is 41312's first visit since 2000. You are correct though about 41241 - Good gala that was.

    That was the triple ivatt gala wasn't it? Wouldn't mind a visit from 46447 to have the three surviving variants together again.
