Hauling a box as well as a rake of coaches? More that happy to be proved wrong. Indeed ecstatic!

A pure steam charter? It just goes to show if a train needs two locos one of them need not be a diesel.......

Happened like that in Feb. Nothing untoward there and the debate is arguably irrelevant as in Feb the double headers also proved that even with a diesel just for ETH they were masters of the job. Travel in confidence I would think.

No debate intended, just an enquiry in case it was worth nipping up the road to view a steam hauled ECS.

That diesel on the back ruined the trip. Sat at the back we couldn't hear the 5s but could hear the diesel.

Interestingly the times have changed as the water stop was planned for Woodley, now back to Romiley as has happened in the previous 2 trips. As a warning to anyone wanting to go for the water stop, Romiley station car parks closed tomorrow for resurfacing.

So there's the answer to earlier queries, no diesel required, steam t&t Blackburn to Preston.

And that is also the answer to anyone who thinks that WCRC pops a diesel in the consist just to be difficult. Clearly they worked out that it could all be done with both locomotives and the pathing permitted the lower speeds for the t&t ECS so that's what they did. Good for them.

Perhaps some of it is down to the particular locos having a history of reliability and therefore trusted not to need assistance?
