Swanage Railway 'Strictly Bulleid' Gala, 31 March - 2 April 2017

Why not renumber and rename one of the originals to match one of the rebuilds (or vice versa) to show the "before and after" of the same loco? Should ruffle a few feathers.

Agree in principle, but surely nobody goes to a Bulleid pacific gala for noise?!

 

Need to have a Leader as well.

Plus a rake of Bulleid coaches wouldn't go a miss.

Hope they can still pull it out the bag with the NVR and SVR doing galas with Bulleid line ups.

Good stuff. Providing SKP attends, that leaves just one more to get the record of the most steamable Bulleids in one place.

 

With a little insider knowledge, if agreements (with owners) and budgets (not cheap to put on this gala) are agreed, then I think it is safe to presume that this gala will definitely get the record.
Get those bed and breakfast booked as am sure they will fill up very quickly......got mine booked already

 

Good stuff once again. Finances and time constraints will mean I'll probably go for one day, although now you come to mention it, the Tank Museum also has an event on. They have one of only two surviving Tiger (P) Elefant tank destroyers on loan from the US equivalent of the museum for 2017. Might be worth killing two birds with one stone.

 

I would agree with you as long as the Tiger (P) only takes a shot at a rebuilt Bulleid.....

I can see it now. Gunner experience courses. Prices graduated according to shell diameter. 48 hour 'domestic' option (ie. the lucky participant lives in a tank for that period). Hmm...

 

So it's 34070 Manston and 4 visiting locos

 

I will sponsor 20 rounds as long as the targets are a mix of GWR locos and "boxes" on the back of steam tours.
