Just some questions, among many, are, in no particular order of priority:-

Provision of adequate parking that is already frequently full.
Provision of of good toilet facilities to replace the existing poorly equipped ones, located away from the platform in a neglected wooden building.
Staffing of the station and signal box, by paid staff since volunteers are already at a premium, for the out of season period.

All of these come at a cost and it is hard to see how, particularly the first can be achieved at all. I am also curious to know what the projected passenger numbers are. Personally I can't see a good business case for it but I am happy to be convinced otherwise.

Good to see Mr. Mendoza still pursuing his cause, despite not running as a Trustee candidate. ;)

Given the new developments at NF & BL, the idea of a National Network service to BL seems much more viable than going all the way to Minehead

Oh, and what would a turntable at BL cost?

AFAIK the two can coexist without a major problem so no need for it.

I understand that up to a point,
Just saying seems very poorly planned thought out, cause now it turns out it seems you can have shuttles and turn,
Yet a few weeks ago it wasn't possible,
Just sends out mixed messages is all.

See what I mean they can coexist yet at the time we was made to think that it wasn't.

It's always simple to do these things until you draw the lines on a graph.

You say simples kind of smacks of greed really,
Taking from one hand(turning locos) giving to the other (running shuttles to eek out a tiny bit more profit,

Still waiting to see the numbers if any were taken of people on shuttle trains during the gala,

Carrying around fresh air in the middle of the day is a great reason not to turn locos,

its obvious if someone wanted to they could make them coexist, but now after all the steps forward taken in the past few months, looks like we are hitting the first step or 2 back,

what for , laziness cause they don't want to look to make things coexist, who knows,

But if we get to a stage where shuttles take priority over loco turning you've lost your usp,

yes its the only line with 2 7fs etc,but without turning both ends, may as well go to a Severn Valley , etc etc, somewhere that has a turntable so there's a bit of variety,

A move towards another gala event like the last one will further agitate photographers,
by that I mean the lineside photographers who pay their way , don't freeload like most and are more importantly, paying the railway , to be the eyes on the railway.

the previous gala , was the quietest I've seen lineside, there didn't seem to be many people about and the ones I spoke to all said they had second thoughts because of the turning situation, the lack of information till last min what way things were ment to be facing,

You may think I'm being difficult,I'm really not,
I want the railway to be successful why I challenge things, nothing to do with moaning or getting moody cause I don't get my own way,it really isn't.

Just after the few proposed steps forward, ( I will believe it when it all happens) Eg the diesel gala being pure diesel)
this could be a step in the wrong if not managed right,I mean im not sure the £50 a year just to go line side is justified for a railway that doesn't have much different to others, but lineside passes and their value for money, is a different story for another day,or a private email to the railway who knows,

    Robin,

If you are an optimist then the glass is half full

If you are a pessimist then the glass is half empty

If you are an accountant then the glass is twice the size it needs to be

If you are an engineer then the glass contains 50% of the water required to reach the point at which it will overflow

If you are one of the ex 6+1 then you know who sold the missing water to himself at mates rates.

If you are a Scotsman then let's each pay 50% of the cost and I'll take the bottom half

If you are part of the WSR Saturday cleaning gang then you will spend your tea break debating whether the measuring point should be the top or bottom of the meniscus.

Doesn't that depend on which way the meniscus is? Mercury, for example.

Ferzakely ! It depends on the specific gravity of the contents of the glass.
