    The Horsham - Ely trip on the 6th December is steam one way only from Willesden to Ely! Diesel back.

    Steam Dreams website says, "Locomotive: Duchess of Sutherland Steam hauled between West London and Ely on the outward journey"

    Most likely an error?... but the stock for this was supposed to leave Southall 2 hours ago to head to Horsham and no sign of movement...

    Not looking hopeful - appears to be a further loss to the schedule. Given the short amount of steam traction on the trip I guess it isn't a problem with this.

    Been told by a member of PRCLT that they were alerted very early this morning that the loco was out of gauge for part of the route, and said something about Ely station...

    Tour was going to run diesel hauled but then diesel failed on ECS off Southall.

    Another one to add to the list of issues with steam charters in 2016:
    - problem over gauging/Network Rail related issue
    - problem with TOC or related locomotives/stock
    - problem with independently owned locomotive.

    I've no intention of making a list but I do wonder whether the least of our worries this year may actually have been the locomotive on the day!

    RTC now seems to be suffering a run of bad luck similar to what SD suffered earlier in the year. My commiserations to the passengers today.

    Ah, no, the Ely train was promoted by SD. Looks like their luck is as bad as ever. What a shame

    Depends what route the ECS will take. Provided that can be routed away from Ely, she should be able to move in the same consist - maybe?

    I assume that WCRC have more than one diesel stabled at Southall, suppose the location of the failure could have blocked everything else in?
