Away 5 early from the water stop

 

Now back up to line speed dashing toward York at 73

 

Playing leap frog with a triple headed container train 2 70s and a 66 - they had to wait for us this time..

 

I spoke too soon - checked at Doncaster

 

Good show for the videos out of Doncaster, accelerating hard now

 

46233 is a wonderful machine, quickly back to 58 and accelerating..

 

73 and aiming for a dash into York I think!

 

Slowing for York soon, arriving and departing platform 10 for those interested

Spirited run back from York to Peterborough albeit checked several times due to late running ecml services.

Nothing to base my thoughts on (first pure steam, first run behind a class 8) but it seemed 46233 very much took today in its stride and had plenty more to give if it was allowed!

Full marks to RTC/WCR as well, fantastic day out and the stewards were brilliant!

Not sure if the guy sitting on the table next to us in coach A was a Nat Pres member but he seemed to be timing the run properly (e.g. Not guess work and a smart phone GPS!)

 

PS sorry RTC but this table decoration santa in mascara is the stuff of Christmas nightmares...

 

Could be the last time we see a green big lizzie in proper action?

 

I hope not, she looks and ran superbly
