I don't think those cottages look half bad! I always assumed they were real :)

When I worked there just after 'Oh Doctor Beeching!' was filmed there were a few bemused visitors asking what had happened to the Cottages! As regards to what @AnthonyTrains2017 is asking an hour or 2 spent at Arley is time certainly well spent. To me it's the most wonderful part of this green and pleasant land. I have so many happy memories of good times there.

They looked very real, even close up. It was only when you went round the back and saw it was open with scaffolding and the odd ladder, so one of the cast could shout from an upper floor window, that you realised. The wagons in the shot were very carefully placed there by me, with the Class 25, against the buffer stop, a massive, tatty baulk of weathered oak, which was in fact, a carefully painted block of expanded polystyrene, hence the careful shunt!

    Regards,

    jtx

With one exception, which I'll get to, that looks very good to me. Nice cover design, easy to understand special events calendar, good text contrast throughout (sadly not a given), clear page for the Bridgnorth project. £19.80 is perhaps a rather fiddly amount for the standard adult fare, but I can see why the more straightforward £20 was thought to "look more expensive". As long as the leaflets get well distributed, I'd have thought they'd get a positive reception. So on the whole, good stuff.

The one really poor part is the note to Timetable A, which is a confusing, misleading mess. We're told the square-blob services will "normally be steam-hauled" -- that's plain wrong, since the exceptions cover well over half of Timetable A's validity period. And is Jun 1-2 really supposed to be missing from the list of exceptions?

This has been pointed out on the SVR forum but too late for the print run. The online version of the calendar/timetable has been changed to
    This service will be a diesel train on the following dates: February 20 - 24, May 2 - 5, 8 - 12, 15 - 17, 22 - 26, 30 & 31, June 5 - 9, 12 - 16 & 19 - 23, July 3 - 7, 10 - 14 & 17 - 21, September 4 - 8, 11 - 15, 18 - 20 & 25 – 29. A steam locomotive will be used on all other dates.

Many thanks - sounds like some real caution as to whether the price is at the top of what the market will stand.

Indeed, personally I feel £20 is the limit for the area, anymore and you will put people off.

Thanks again - and very interesting. Do I take it from your comment that being sensitive to the risk of deterring through price is something that the active SVR membership are very aware of? I presume that there isn't a great desire to deter potential passengers!

Our TTIs will have to carry a good float of 20p pieces this season

Not very customer friendly and rather counter productive to keeping price sub £20

According to the Royal Mint there is no right to demand change, but what about customer service?

There's comment about this in the internal TTI newsletter. We'll have to see how it goes I suppose. Whilst I'm down to work in March, that's at the SSG so my first encounter of the new normal fares is likely to be sometime over Easter.

Look on the bright side, it should be lighter than last season's float of 50p pieces.

Slightly better, I suppose, but still a long and potentially confusing list of dates. Some sort of mark/shading (eg clear yellow/dotted yellow) might have been a better and clearer way to go.

Also, June 1-2 is still missing from that list of diesel dates. Surely that's a mistake? It seems bizarre that the 1100 from Kidderminster would be steam-hauled just for that two-day period, despite every other Timetable A weekday between May 2 and June 23 using diesel.
