RSG/Meld/ and now Pinza

Sorry to be pedantic, but No.10 didn't have a plural name. ;)

Just for interest, the first Deltic I saw was No.7 in 1976, the last (in BR service), No.15 in 1982. Amazing how six years seemed to last so much longer then than it does now!

No problem - thank you for correcting me!

And to think that once upon a time, I knew the names of all 22 Deltics and all 34 A4s, and used to recite them to help me get to sleep... :)

As for your other comment - I swear time is logarithmic.

They have been advertised on ebay for ages Victor, you also see slight seconds for £15.00

  14. Never seen the point of reproduction shedplates or nameplates, etc. Surely the intrinsic value in them is their history and rarity? If I can't afford to pay £stupid for one of the two nameplates off 55007, for example, (which I never in a million years will be able to), why would I want a pretend one?

Does anybody really buy resin versions?

Obviously yes! A friend of mines brother has a nice little shrine to his favourite class 50 in his lounge, as you say some people can't afford the silly sums of cash to by a genuine plate but they'd still like a little momento of their favourite machine. I've tried (and failed) to convince the good lady how nice a repo 'Mary, Queen of Scots' name plate would look in our lounge, she's not convinced though!

I could fancy the "Nimbus" one, it was my favourite when in service, as it was always passing Ouston Junction in my spotting days, and drivers seemed to take great delight, on taking her from Idle to Full Bore, after they had passed over the points heading North.

Wondered why it dis-appeared first, probably down to the above mentioned escapades!!!!

I was enjoying the noise especially at Northwood Lane; and feeling rather envious as all this is at the bottom of a mate's garden!

For something a bit different, we've managed to secure RSG/Ballymoss for the Nene Valley's Mail by Rail weekend.

Passengers travel in the TPO's for approximately 5 minutes to one of our set of lineside apparatus, before the Deltic will do 3 sets of exchanges as run pasts for each session.

    Normal fares apply.

    http://www.nvr.org.uk/events/mail-rail-weekend

The Deltic is also out this coming weekend along with Royal Scot, 92 Squadron and others for the NVR's 40th anniversary weekend
