The Bluebell are very good at offering inducements to become a member/buy shares and then withdrawing them when they have your money.......a reason i am no longer a member.

I have joined the railway and loco groups I am a member of because I want to support them and see them succeed, I don't even look at the membership benefits on offer

Many of Those of us who were generous in the support of the railway by purchasing the first issue of Shares to fund the extension and then had what had been promised withdrawn unless we bought further shares still find it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. I would rather they had never made promises they had no intention of keeping, I would have still bought the shares however I find it difficult to accept borderline dishonesty.

From the Bluebell "What's New" page:

Tickets to travel on general service trains behind our own locomotives during the visit of 'Flying Scotsman' (13-19 April)are on sale from 11am on Monday 27 February via Ticket Source.

These tickets cover an entire day on the railway, allowing travel on any of the 8 of the trains running behind two of our own larger locomotives, but do not guarantee seats on a specific timed train. Parking at Horsted Keynes is advised for these trains, or join us via a special bus link from Haywards Heath to Sheffield Park, or by train via East Grinstead.

Terms and conditions for these tickets are available here. The timetable for the trains will be available soon.

These tickets are shown as '9am' since they are valid all day, from 9am.

They are priced at £25 for adults and £12.50 for children, with no concessions or discounts available.

Timetable for the Flying Scotsman event here:

    http://www.bluebell-railway.com/file/298/timetable-for-website.pdf

FS crosses the Bluebell service trains at Kingscote in each direction, which are timed to allow the FS services to run non-stop. The Bluebell service trains cross each other at Horsted Keynes.

Same basic service all days, though there are morning or evening dining trains not shown on the timetable on some days

Announced on the Bluebell Facebook page that RH&DR "Typhoon" will be visiting during this gala.

So there may well be the opportunity to recreate this in the yard at Sheffield Park:

According to the event page Typhoon will be on display at Sheffield Park and mentions recreating the picture above.

I enjoyed Typhoon's last visit although I take it Typhoon won't be in steam this time.

Why would you think that? She's operational I believe, she certainly was last November.

    From the e-Newsletter:

"Flying Scotsman" Flying South This Month
    13 to 19 April, 2017

All of the 'Flying Scotsman'-hauled passenger trains over the seven-day visit, including the special breakfast and evening dining Pullman trains, have been sold out, but you can still visit the Railway to see this iconic loco and enjoy a day 'rover' ticket covering all trains hauled by our resident locos. To avoid disappointment, booking in advance is advised, although as sales currently stand, there will be tickets available on the day.

"At East Grinstead, the sale of platform admission tickets will be decided on and throughout each day based both on crowd and passenger numbers. Therefore, there is no guarantee that platform tickets at East Grinstead will be sold--it is a better option to purchase a travel ticket for £25 and gain access to all stations."

Watch the famous "Flying Scotsman" at close quarters and enjoy unlimited travel all day on our own trains for just £25 (children aged 3-15 years half price)--beat the queues and book ahead.

    Important information ...
    • If driving to the Railway, please park your car at Horsted Keynes (RH17 7BB). Limited parking may be available at Sheffield Park, but car parking at that station is mainly intended for those holding tickets for "Flying Scotsman" trains.
    • Or arrive at the Bluebell Railway by train at East Grinstead.
    • Or catch the specially arranged Compass Service 22 at Haywards Heath, Scaynes Hill, etc.
    • If you just want to look at the trains via a platform ticket, admission to the stations will be mainly at Sheffield Park, Horsted Keynes, and Kingscote (see Roger Garman's comments above about platform tickets at East Grinstead). Platform tickets will be available on the day at £10 per station, but you can stay as long as you like.
Additional attractions during this gala will include the visit of the miniature "Typhoon" loco from the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. Known as "Kent's
Mainline in Miniature", the RH&DR runs one-third full size steam and diesel locos through Romney Marsh to the Dungeness nature reserve.

"Flying Scotsman" and the miniature "Typhoon" were the subjects of a famous 1927 Getty photo, and this photo will be re-created during the gala.

And, of course, food, drink, and picnic areas will be available, and the Museum and Loco Shed at Sheffield Park will be open, along other attractions. Further information about the event is available here.

My understanding is that there will be a 10 1/4" railway running through the loco yard at Sheffield Park. I think there is an intention to put together Gresley pacifics in Z, N, OO, O, Gauge 1, 3.5", 5", 7 1/4", 10 1/4", 15" and full size.

As the event timetable the railway has published does not show the breakfast/Dining trains and now all the seats have been sold they have been deleted from the Railway's website could anyone please advise as to which dates and times these services run, please.

    Thank you, in anticipation.

Realtime Trains might show it (though sometimes Flying Scotsman moves are not advertised due to trespass risk), 60103 finishes on the KWVR on Sunday so will move on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

There was talk of it moving 'bang road' (LU term - taking the Up rather than the Down) to East Grinstead, which would suggest an overnight move. That would help reduce the risk of trespass as well during the Easter holidays.

    Regards,

    Dan
